Eliz's Story

Counting the days ‘til our little girl turns one, let’s look back at the past months and remember what she has done…

The first of June 2012 she was born,

At five minutes before three of early morn. 

 From two grandmothers she was named after

With a name that puts Joy and Love together

At two months she was taught the value of money,

A bank account on her name was opened by her mommy.

On her third month of life, aside from rolling from her back to tummy,

She learned three things – smile, giggle and laugh – that brought pure bliss to her mommy and daddy.

At four months, cooing sounds can be heard coming from her mouth;

Reaching for toys has become her source of joy. 

She also got her name printed on her first ID,

An HMO card courtsey of her daddy.

She’s half a year old now, and solids like veggies, biscuits and fruits are her favorite chow.

Six ounces of milk she can drink in a couple of minutes, this while holding her bottle with her own two feet!

She sat by herself the past month, so she learned to crawl on her seventh month.

By this time she perfected the skill of clapping…

Oh, this ninth month is special too because her first tooth came bursting in!

Indeed, the little girl has grown by leaps and bounds,

She can even now walk – just hold her hands!

We had three pediatrician changes
Before we found one that suits our preferences.
Two nannies we had to experience
And twice must we transfer to another residence.

She had the past 365 days to learn, play and grow;
A really healthy baby that to the hospital we never did go.

It was a full year, I must say
To have had these memories at bay
But come to think of it, the fun has just begun
Because the little girl is just turning ONE!
